I hope someone can help me with this PLEASE.

I can't connect to any ISP. Actually, the connection is
made, it shows as active and says "connected" and even
lists my ip and the networks ip. But all pages come back
as file not found/dns error. When I try to access a mail
accont in Outlook Express, it immediately tells me server
not found.

I'm using Windows 2000 and am logged in as an
administrator. The accounts that I am trying to log into
are both valid. I was able to log into them up until
yesterday when suddenly it just won't work.

One of the ISP's comes back with an error message that I
could not be validated on the network.

Please help.

Thank you.

connect to the internet. start>run and type cmd to open a dos box. type
"ping google.com" press return and you should get 4 responses. repeat
process but type "ping 216.239.37.99" (the ip address is also google.com)
If you can ping ping the ip address ok but fail on the resolved name
(google) then you need to remove tcp ip and replace it.
to remove tcp ip. start>settings>ctrl panel>network connections. right click
on your internet account & select properties. Select networking and look for
the tick in the box that says internet protocol and remove the tick. Reboot
machine and repeat process but replace tick. If tick isnt there select
install and select tcp/ip and reboot your machine. Should solve your dns
issue.

Hope this helps

Check your internet settings (start - run - settings -
control panel - internet options) and make sure you don't
have a proxy server setup or anything like that. If you
can ping the address mentioned below but can't browse this
may be a good place to continue to look.
