connection dialup coming up

I have a problem where my dialup connection dialog keeps coming up when
I try to log onto my access point even though I selected log on only
when a LAN connection is not detected. I even selected none, but then I
can't dial out anymore and it still won't bring up my AP configuration
screen. So, I have to dialup and connect to my ISP before I can access
my AP configuration utility. Anybody know why this is happening and
what I can do to fix it. Oh, I am using Windows 2000 Pro.

Hi Roger,

It seems you are using a wireless NIC. Have you ever used a modem and
created a dial-up connection? I suggest you use the following steps to
check the status:

1. Delete the dail-up connections in the Network connections.
2. Go to IE->Tools->Internet Options->Connections tab->Choose Never dial a
connection

What is the result?

If the issue persiste, please gather the followoing info:
1. To save the system information file:
1) Click the Start-> Run->type"msinfo32"(without quotation marks)->
click OK.
2) In the System Information window, click the File-> "Save..."

2. Take a scren shot of the dial-up connection when it shows up

Send the info to (e-mail address removed) for research.
