Have noticed an odd behavior in IE6sp1 since updating via
Windows Update. IE is consistently abandoning connections
when waiting longer than 30sec for a response from the
server. The behavior, briefly, is this:

Initial request
Return 100 from server
Ack
30sec wait
Re-post
Return 100 from server
Ack
Reset...

IE abandons connection at this point.

Anyone experiencing this on a fully-patched version of
IE6?

Same thing is happening to me. I have been using Netscape
and am not having the problem so I'm pretty sure it is
IE6sp1. I also subscribe to McAffee VirusScan Online V8.0
and have uninstalled to see if that was the problem, but it
is not the problem. I also did all modem troubleshooting
and changed to a new access number. Nothing helped so I
know it's the ie, but what to do???

Check the source for HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH"?
Alternatively, test with that support disabled by using
the Security tab, Miscellaneous section.

Some sites may think all their users are on broadband
and won't notice the overhead of refreshing the page
(to show different ads) this frequently.
