I'm told that there are two files to update, but every time I try to download
them Spybot goes dead in the middle of the process. Am I screwing up in some
way?

Hi

I believe there are others having the same problem.
Try later. :)

You might want to check one of these groups for further info:
alt.privacy.spyware
or maybe
alt.comp.anti-virus or 24hoursupport.helpdesk.

BTW I just now got both of them. It took quite awhile!

I had the same problem, so I went to the website, downloaded the updates and
installed them.

Connect to the US mirror site (FXClips) I had the same problem until I
selected the US site.Open up Advanced then check for updates, when that
finnishes you will see no mirror selected, click on down arrow and you will
see the US site.

FWIW-having the same issue I discovered if I ran Spybot it than would do the
download.Why?????

From Spybot Forum
http://www.net-integration.net/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=28;t=5033
"Also if Spybot hangs at start, please do the following.

You will need to either close your Internet connection temporarily or block
Spybot from accessing the net through your firewall, again, temporarily.
Check your Spybot settings. In advanced mode, go to Settings - Settings -
Under Automation. Check to see if you set it to look for updates at program
start. If so, uncheck all those settings. Then restart it. It should start
fine. There is no other reason that Spybot would access the net unless YOU
set it to look for updates automatically....which for now is not a good
idea. Until we get the server problems worked out, look manually for
updates. Choose the Australian mirror and give it time.
Then, when done, reopen you net connection or take out the block rule from
your firewall for Spybot.
