Has anyone had this problem?:

I got Vista Ultimate about a week ago and i still havn't got it connected to
the internet. I have a wireless network in my house and it will connect to
the network, but it won't connect to the internet. When i connect it says the
signal is excellent but it has limited connectivity. I've checked the other
wireless computers in the house and they are online and working. I have even
called Comcast and even after 45 minutes they were confused why it wasnt
working. So if anyone else has had this problem and knows how to fix it,
please let me know.

I would check the security settings first. This case study may help,

sent packets on wirelessCase Study - Sent packets only on a wireless computer and Limited or no connection. Situation: one of our users has a XP computer with wireless connection. ...

Sounds like it has not set either the correct gateway ip address and the DNS
addresses to resolve host names. Make sure DHCP is enabled on Router and
Vista is set to obtain IP and DNS automatically.
Type IPCONFIG /ALL in command window or view Status of connection to see
these values (compare them to XP machines).

I'm having similar problems. Go to the knowledge base, after selecting
Windows Vista [version], type DHCP in the search field.

There are several problems and issues with Vista and DHCP.

I finally had to hard code my IP info and it works fine. However, the DHCP
discovery and DHCP communication in Vista is TRASH!

On the other hand, once you do have the IP info configured correctly, the
signal strength is good, and the networking tools are pretty decent (even
though they take some time to get used to).

Don't use your router's internal DHCP server...

try looking at

hope that helps - there are dowmloads to fix it

How exactly did you do this Bill? I have a comcast modem connected to my home
computer, but does it have to be wireless and if so, how do I make it
wireless?

Thank you
