Dave

I have created two servers one ip is 192.168.1.1 sub 255.255.255.0. the
other 192.168.255.20 sub 255.255.255.248. On server A=192.168.1.1 I have
install dns and created a host called galorewhole.com with the ip address of
server B=192.168.255.20 in it. From server A I can not ping server B. I am
new to windows environment so maybe I'm doing this wrong. Can somebody shed
any light on my mystery. thanks.

This two servers reside in different network subnets, so you must have a
router or some other device to interconnect this two networks together. Can
you describe your network more in detail ?

Yes, but unless you are doing Layer 3 routing, then basing on your IP
scheme, there is no way for this servers to see each other. Pinging
computers by IP address does not involve and DNS server,
