I have a client who is going to work from home on a WinXP Pro machine. She
needs to connect to the office Win2000 Server to do some database work so I
set up a VPN connection for her and have been trying to get her logged on
via the Remote Desktop Connection. However, I keep getting an error that
says the "The local policy of this system does not permit you to logon
interactively"

I checked the security settings of all the parameters I could think of. I
set the dial-in permission of the account. I am not sure what else to do ?

Any ideas?

thanks

Nate

Her user account doesn't have the right to logon locally on the server
console. You normally wouldn't want a user logging on the console of a
server.

To give this user the required rights, fire up the Local Security Policy MMC
on the server, navigate to Local Policies, User Rights Assignment. Add the
user account (or preferably a group) to the "Log on Locally" item.
