Connecting to the Internet through network host computer

My problem is that i have just installed a wireless network in my home, my
laptop connects to the internet fine, but my host computer cannot connect to
the internet at all...
When i click on Internet Explorer, i am taken straight to internet
properties instead of connecting to websites.
Could anybody tell me why this is please?
