connecting to other computer problem

Hi, I'm trying to get my dad's new laptop to print over our wireless network,
but when I try to log into the computer that's got the printer connected to
it, it automatically adds my dad's laptop's name to the username ( it looks
like dadslaptop\othercomputerusername) which obviously means I can't connect
because it's the wrong username. I can connect to other computers fine on my
own laptop which runs Vista as well, it's just this one I have the problem
with.

Any ideas?

It took me forever to figure this out! I was having the same problem. Here's
what you do:

Go to Control Panel > Adminstrative Tools
System Configuration > Click on the Tools tab and scroll down to Registry
Editor

1. Run the registry editor and open this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Lsa\LmCompatibilityLevel

3. Set the value to 1

Good luck!
