Hi.

Please bear with me on this total novice question:

We have a family PC at home, where we keep pictures and other family files.
I work from a different PC in the house but would like to be able to work
directly on the family PC as we have a different set of programs installed
there. If the family PC had Windows Server I could use Terminal Services I
suppose, but is there a different way if the PC is an XP Pro machine?

Thanks
Lisa

XP Pro has "Remote Desktop Connection (RDC)", which is a cut-down version of
Terminal Services. The only differences of any consequence are that only one
remote connection is allowed at a time, and any user logged-on locally gets
logged-off (actually suspended using fast user switching) when the remote
connection is established.

You'll need to install the Terminal Services Client on the computer you'll
be using to access the family PC.

Type "Remote Desktop" into the Help And Support Centre (without the quotes)
for full instructions.
