I have successfuly managed to map a shared folder to two pc's within a work group, but cannot connect the third, I am able to ping the server ok, which is on another domain. Tried browsing from run used for example \\192.168.1.1 but keep get the message "Windows cannot find 'ip address' make sure that you type the correct name".

The workgroup connects to the Server via an ISDN router.

Can anyone give me some advice on this matter.

Thanks

Duncan

since you mention "able to ping the server", what do you get is using net
view \\serverip?

Is the user id the same on all 3 machines? If not, you may not be authorised to the folder. On my home set up, I have a workgroup configuration, but my laptop can also dial into the work network which is a domain. If I want to connect to one of the servers, I have to map a drive to the folder I want, and specify who is connecting to the folder eg domain\userid.
