Hi,

I've got a client who is running Windows NT 4.0 server as his Network OS. He
logs onto that server everytime. He has opened another office somewhere
else, and wants to be able to log onto that server too (when his machine
boots, he should see the two domain names, and choose from them).

His laptop runs windows 2000 pro. Do i follow the same procedure as usual,
i.e, going to the properties of my computer, and change the domain name?

Thanks,

Ash

You can't belong to more than domain at a time. Have him always log into the
domain, with cached credentials, and he can still connect to the other
domain's resources by supplying the appropriate credentials -

net use x: \\servername\sharename /user:domain\username

or via Map Network Drive in Windows Explorer.

You could also do a google search for "Netswitcher" - I hear it works.
However, it's so easy to do what I suggested above, I have never seen the
point of complicating matters.

The other option (perhaps too late) is to network the two offices, put a DC
in each location, and he's good to go -

You need to establish "trust" between domains to be able to choose the
domain you're logging in.
Stiil the Computer may belong to only one domain at a time

Regards,
Alex.
