We gave one of your PC's that was in our domain to a user so that the
user could work at home.
We have a checkpoint firewall with secureclient on the clients.
The user has a cable modem at home. The PC is set to DCHP but has our
internal DNS and WINS address'. When the user turns on the PC at home
it takes about 5-7 minutes for the logon screen to come up. Then it
takes another 2 minutes for the desktop to show after logging on. I
know this is because windows is timing out trying to contact the DNS
servers and the domain. Since the DNS servers are behind the firewall,
this can't be done. Once the secureclient authenticates with the
firewall, everything is fine.
What can I do to decrease the login time upon startup of the machine?
TIA
