Hi guys, can anyone advise me on what Im trying to do
here please. Ive got a Toshiba Satellite 1440 laptop in
my bedroom that runs to another computer in the study
room, which is mums boyfriends set up. I know its cable
and thats about it?

Ive been trying to connect a normal phone into the phone
port of my laptop but its not working out for me? Are you
even supposed to even try that? or does it even work? Its
a cable line? Im not sure what the difference is? Any
ideas would be great!! Im on windowx XP pro...

thanks

Natively, you cannot use your Windows XP computer
as a telephone. A cable connection only supplies internet
access....it does not provide telephone access. You would
need to install a microphone, a voice modem, and connect
an actual "live" telephone line to your modem.
