How do I connect my notebook with MP3 files or videos to my TV (here I have a
special card) but esp. to my Hifi system in order to play my music library
via my normal applifier. I already tried to connect the normal Audio cables
(red and white) to the AUX inline, but it does not work. Do I need a special
connection cable or driver?
Thx

Your error was hooking your stereo to your Notebook Inputs. Unless you want
something from your stereo to go INTO your Notebook. See if the sound card in
your Notebook has OUTPUTS or LINE OUT jack on it, you could use the Headphone
jack, but if you should turn up the volumn at your Notebook, could cuz a
problem at the stereo. Radio Shack sells a Mini 1/8" Stereo Male Plug to two
female RCA Phono plugs and it is an Attenueating cable, which means there is
a resistor to prevent damage to input circuit if the volumn is turned up
(using Headphone Output on Notebook). If you have a Line Out, Aux Out or
Audio Out on the NOtebook, just get a regular Mini 1/8" Stereo Male Plug to
two female RCA Phono plugs and then connect a patch cord from the females to
your Aux Inouts on your Stereo, turn the selector on the front of the amp to
Aux and you should be in business.

Thx a lot Craig, will do first thing tom. Cheers
