I'm pondering if this falls under the whole IP over Firewire, but anyway,
i'll ask.
im trying to connect my PC to my Mac Laptop. and im not seeing anything
connecting from either end.
the mac, as we all know, has built in firewire and it works fine (use it to
record video to imovie). on my Home built PC, i have a Firewire port
installed (one of those things that takes up a PCI slot but isnt a PCI card).
and that works fine as well (recorded video onto Movie Maker). so it's not a
driver issue, but something else.
I read two conflicting reports from here. one stated that Msft won't support
1394 networking at Vista. However, reading an article here in windows Vista
support, they have instructions on setting up 1394 networks (rather, just
telling you you need the equipment, then see "setting up a home network",
which becomes a dead-end).
all help is welcomed and appreciated.
