what cable are you using?
if it is the Nokia (the real cable, not a standard cable) USB, then install
the software over itself with the cable OUT
check the settings for the way the pc is to connect to the phone is correct,
and while it is trying to connect or look for a phone, put the kettle on and
wait a while, mine took a while to find the phone the first time.
then leave the cable in the pc, so next time you re-boot it finds the cable,
just a thought, but have you used all of your PCI slots? cos this is the
problem I had it has something to do with the IRQ's, on start-up.
