I recently installed a server with Server 2003. Before
that I used a peer-to-peer network with an Access 2000
database. Before the server installation I kept the data
files on one of the computers and ran the application file
from each connected computer. Everything worked fine.
Now with the server I am getting the following message:
The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the
file 'XXX'. It is already opend exclusively by another
user, or you need permission to view its data." Does
anyone have any ideas?????

What permissions do you have on the folder where the MDB file exists? You
need Change access (Read, Write, eXecute and Delete). This is because the
first user to open the database causes a locking file (.LDB) to be created
in the same folder as the .MDB, subsequent users update that locking file,
and the last user to close the database causes the locking file to be
deleted.
