I've read posts in various groups, mostly this one, suggesting that the
above is possible, but I haven't cracked it yet. I have
1) Downloaded and run the XP driver package from Visioneer (which
reports that it installs the driver, though it doesn't)
2) Connected the scanner to an available USB port.
3) Attempted to let Windows find the driver (it can't).
Windows recognizes that the hardware is attached but says the driver
isn't installed; then it can't find the driver. Where is this driver
actually hiding on my hard disk? Can I just point Windows to it and
make the thing work? Any help much appreciated.
