We use Connected DataProtector/PC for workstations backup
(www.ironmountaindigital.com/data_protection/pc_service.asp) for about 7K
workstations. Every time the Connected client communicates with the server,
Windows Defender complains about the task bar icon. I have included the
event from the system log below. I am only given the option to allow or
block, but not always allow. It use to complain about C:\Program
Files\Connected\CBSysTray.exe, but I was able to add tell it not to scan that
file (.exe), but I can add the .lnk. This happens every few minutes. Is
there any way to add these items to the Allow List?

Thanks.

Search the .general group on the senders name "techie007" for a thread from
another user with a similar issue--He was able to solve it by editing the
registry. I can't recommend that, but if you feel comfortable following his
lead, this apparently is possible.
