Connected but not?

I have lost my Taskbar notification for being online. Options are still set
up to show the icon.
In network connection it shows my Dial-up ISP as being disconnected even
though I am online. Any ideas?

What method do you use to connect? Do you have a router in your setup?
The router may be configured to log you on and it may be handling the
actual online connection.
