I just recently ran into the following problem after
attempted installation of a wireless USB device. The box
returned some unknown USB error message which I just
clicked through.

Now, I cannot view any web content when connected to the
internet either through AOL or the wireless device.
Everything says that I am connected but I can only receive
the "Page cannot be displayed" error message. The AOL
browser also has this problem but I am able to send and
receive email. I have deleted out all temp files, the
index.dat, and cleared the history with no luck. I also
reset to default all internet settings. Thanks.

Go to a command prompt.

At the command prompt type in the following:

Ping 4.2.2.2

You should have a reply, the type this in:

Ping Yahoo.com

I suspect that you will not have a reply.

this is caused because your computer isn't talking to a
DNS server. Under the IP properties of your network
adapter you need to add the DNS Server addresses from
your ISP service. After that the retry to Ping Yahoo.com

Hope this helps

MS Knowledge Base Article #241344 "Error Message: The
Page Cannot Be Displayed" helped me with a similar problem
(connected but no content). Perhaps it would also work
for you.
