Connect to More Than 1 Computer On Network

J

John Ciccone

I used to have the recipe for being able to log on to any particular computer
on a (peer-to-peer/router) network. I've lost it and don't remember how.

In the Remote Desktop window, I would enter the IP address, followed a colon
and some sort of 4-digit identifier which was unique to each computer. Looked
like a port number. I seem to remember a process to locate this identifier on
each computer.

Can anyone point me to instructions?

Thank you.

The default port is 3389
So 192.168.1.1:3389 works as does 192.168.1.1

If you have changed, or want to change the default port on the machines you
find the value in the registry here;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal
Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\PortNumber

How to change Terminal Server's listening port
