connect to main server

I cannot connect to main server when trying to play online. I've tried everything from re-installing to opening ports on the firewall. I also shutdown all the things in start up to see if it would work and nothing. I hit connect and in that instance it says "error: Finding master server 'mwmatch.zone.com' for network status ,check http://www.zone.com/mech4. Can anyone help?
 
Hi Mr Elotes,

If you were able to connect before and you are using a home router,
I suggest you try connecting directly to your Internet Cable or DSL
modem instead to see if that router is causing the issue. Good luck. :-)

In addition to what Jimmy has already offered, you may wish to look at this

are running at least the Internet Connection Firewall on Windows XP, I would
NOT connect directly to your modem. You're opening up your system for all
types of very quick invasions. Remember, if you're on a home Local Area
Network (with a router/base station configuration), you need to direct those
port openings to the specific machine by its LAN IP address.
