connect to groupwise

Has anyone seen a freeware that allows the user to connect to the
groupwise mailbox to read mail, without having to start the groupwise
client?

For those that don't know the groupwise client tends to lock up
computers, so I don't leave it open most of the day.

Any eMail client (Groupwise supports POP3 and IMAP protocols).
