I have two DCs both running Windows 2000 SP4.

PDC: 2 NICs, 192.168.1.218 & 10.0.1.218
DC2: 1 NIC, 192.168.1.214

When I tried to connect to the PDC from DC2 using "Active Directory
Domains and Trusts", I got the following error: "The configuration
information describing this enterprise is not available. The server is
not operational." If I disabled the 10.0.1.218 NIC on the PDC, it
connected.

Initially, I suspected it was an DNS issue. Therefore, I disabled
"daynmic udpates" on both DCs and played around. No matter how I
configured DNS, it was the same problem. I searched Microsoft
Knowledge Base such as Q261203, Q323542, Q257346, and Q329887 but none
of them helped. Can anyboby help? Thanks.

Hi Stevta,

Thank you very much for your help. Although the Q275554 didn't solve
my problem, at least I narrowed down the problem to NAT of RRAS.

The RRAS of PDC is running as a router for LAN routing only. If I put
the 10.0.1.218 interface on NAT as a private interface, the problem
occurred.

By the way, the network is setup this way so I need two NICs.
PDC: 192.168.1.218/24, 10.0.1.218/24 connect to the accounting
department
DC2: 192.168.1.214/24, 10.0.2.214/24 connect to the sales department
Gateway/Firewall: 192.168.1.1/24, ADSL connect to the Internet
