Look at the manual that came with your laptop. If you didn't get a
manual, then look in the laptop's Start Menu since most laptop mftr.'s
put the manual on the hard drive. Failing that, go to the laptop
mftr.'s tech support website for your specific model laptop. The manual
will be there.

Most likely not possible. Most new laptops have no PS2 ports, only USB
ports...

No current laptop supports PS/2. You might get away with using a PS/2 to
USB gender changer, but it depends on the software/drivers for the
motherboard whether this will work or not.

New laptop + old keyboard. No mix. Chances are good that your laptop
does not have a ps/2 port. There are only two options. PS2 to usb
adaptor (not recommended). Usb keyboard.

My laptop is a dell inspiron E1505. I cannot find a port to accept the type
a keyboard I bought (from dell on the same order).

I have looked at the manual on the hard drive, but can't find anything on
external keyboard installation/attachment.
I'll try the tech support. Thank you.

Interesting, since dell sold me the keyboard at the same time they sold me
the laptop. thank you, i'll check into it.

thank you, this is very helpful.
