Does anyone know how you connect the cat5 e wire to the rj45 wallplate?. The
colors in the wire are not the same on the back of the plate. Any
suggestions?

I've done more of them than I care to think about and it is pretty
straight-forward IME. There are two wiring sequences and almost invariably
both ways are called out on the little placard on the connector block. You
have the option of T-568A and T-568B connections. Either one will work as
long as you follow through on all the connections with the same sequence.
T-568B seems to be _far_ more commonly used and I _never_ have needed to
use the other one myself so I keep things simple. Given the choice of
connectors I will always select those that have a manual punch-down block
rather than ones that are supposed to be self terminating, the former
giving a positive verifiable indication when the job is done right and the
latter hiding things under a plastic cover.

If the colors of wires you have in your cable do not match those on the
connector placard, it would seem likely that you don't have CAT5 wire. You
need four pairs, orange/orange-white, blue/blue-white, green/green-white,
brown/brown-white. What colors are you seeing?
