Keith

Contrary to all of the complaining I'm seeing in this
forum, I'd like to congratulate Microsoft for stepping up
to the plate and addressing the Spyware issue. Remember,
Microsoft didn't install the Spyware on your system, you
did (even if it was unintentional.) The fact that Micrsoft
is willing to provide you with a (free for now) tool to
assist in removing it is great. BTW: I tried every free
AntiSpyware tool I could find and none except MSAS
successfully and completely removed the eBates MoneyMaker
spyware from my system.

I am not complaining!!!
I just need somewhere to go to resolve the problem.
What a leap you made!

Yep, let's all congratulate MS for taking the credit for
all the hard work that Giant Company Software put into
their Giant AntiSpyware application. Long live the little
guy . . that is until MS or Symantec buy you out.

Now if MS were to keep this application free, then I'd
heap on high praises!

Can you provide the link to this actual statement? I find
no reference to this on the MSAS (MSWAS?) FAQ page at
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/f
aq.mspx.

Andre Da Costa's post differs by saying that it will only
be free for home users. Does this imply that there will
be a fee-based Enterprise version?

Thanks

No, the Enterprise edition which said to be in the works will come at a cost
to Corporate Environements and will probably be targetted at the Server for
Central Management and Group Policy scenarios. I don't know where Jupiter
got that about Microsoft AntiSpyware we are currently using will be
targetted specifically at home users, its possible it will work hand in hand
with the Enterprise edition plannded when it is finalized.

I should have clarified. I followed the RSA Conference
link on your FAQ page. Yet it is dated Feb. 15th, 2005.
I am looking for current information on Microsoft's plans
on charging for this application or on offering it for
free, for the single user _and_ for an enterprise edition.

Hi 67,

Microsoft has announced that the release version of MWAS will be available
at no additional cost to licensed Windows customers.
They've also announced that a product suitable for the Enterprise will be
available at some future time, and will have a cost associated with it.

Now to add my $.02, it will be free for most users. Enterprise users will
deal with a product that will be different, so as to not allow users to
block the incoming scripts from Admins etc.
