I believe I just left a new post here half an hour or so. Then I went
through
some more confusion with Microsoft trying to figure out what password they
wanted with my email adddress. So now, I don't know where I stand. Was my
post posted or not?
Why would Microsoft want a password with your email?
You posted - but what you posted was as cryptic - just shorter - than what
you just posted asking if you had posted or not.
You did not (as far as I can tell) post in this PARTICULAR newsgroup -
but...

Do you have an actual question or are you just trying to figure out how to
utilize the newsgroups?
If the latter - maybe this will help:

The second question makes 'some sense' (that you posted):
"I just got through reinstalling XP because of lack of space on my C
partition, so I reinstalled most programs on the D drive. In Windows
Explorer
this resulted in some confusion (to me) of volume labels so I renamed the C
drive "Operating System" (which seems to be acceptable to the computer); but
I also renamed the D drive "Programs 1". After closing My Computer, I have
been unable to find the D drive again, either in My Computer or in Computer
Management.
I assume my choice of label was a no-no. Is there any way to recover the D
partition (drive) short of reinstalling XP?"
It's not a 'no-no' - although I don't think I would have called it what you
did.
- Go into your system BIOS (before Windows ever loads) and make sure you
still see it here.
- Go into Disk Manager (in Windows XP) and make sure you still see it there.
Do you still own the Subaru?
