Confusing documentation and installer... Does Windows Embedded Standard 2009 require TWO different v

According to the pre-installation instructions, step 1 is to install the web
based MS SQL 2008 Express. Step 2 is to install the MS SQL 2005 from the
DVD. So both have to be on there? That makes NO sense.

No. Only one. SQL 2005 Express is one that seems to be working well with
WES/XPe. There have been reports that SQL 2008 Express has caused some
problems.
