windows are 'not responding' and i have to reboot. i thought i may have a
virus or the like- I ran spyware rebooted ran again- then ran Norton -full
scan-rebooted . Then went and checked windows reported errors and although my
system is functioning reasonably- i still get this-

'Source: ACPI
Date: 17/02/2008 19:19:11
Level: Error
Description:
IRQARB: ACPI BIOS does not contain an IRQ for the device in PCI slot 5,
function 0. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.'

Thank you

Most new laptop machines do not have a parallel or serial port. Do you have
a laptop?
Did you or someone else "clone" the ops system from another computer?
If you have added a PCI card (parallel port perhaps?) this may be part of
the problem.
BIOS settings should be looked at as well.
