Confused - OneCare with ad-aware

Hi, I have a new computer and purchased One Care. I was told that is all I
need.

A friend sent me a ad-aware to download and said I should be using
additional sercurity downloads like ad-aware.

I'm new to all of this, do I need to run additional security checks? Is
ad-aware compatible. If so, it would have to be easy (ie. download and hit
run). If I'm required to turn stuff on & off, I'm just not that technical.

Any assistance would be appreciated. I haven't had any issues with One care
(that I know of).

thanks

You can certainly run AdAware if you wish, but not the real time protection of
Ad-Watch, when using OneCare. Note that AdAware will warn of and remove tracking
cookies, which OneCare does not block or remove.

thanks stephen B

So ad-aware is compatible? I just have to download to my program files and
run whenever I want to check for cookies?

I appreciate your assistance.

Yes, that is correct - and to check for things that may have been missed by
OneCare. No single anti-spyware package will find everything, so running the
Lavasoft's AdAware periodically, is fine.
