Conflicting Wireless Networks

I set up a wireless network in my house. The network has
been working great for months. Recently, the
card "drops" the connection because the signal is weak
only to reconnect at a strong signal. The machine hasn't
moved so it can't be location. Also, one of my neighbors
must have installed a wireless network too because my
machine "sees" this network. I'm afraid my computer is
getting confused by the two sets of signals. How do I
fix this? Is there a way to prevent my computer from
even seeing my neighbors wireless network?

Thanks.

You can do all the obvious things to seperate yourself from your neighbor
such as changing the SSID on your router to something other than the
manufacturer default, you can change the channel to something other than the
manufacturer default, you can set up MAC filtering in your router (assuming
it supports it) so that only your wireless card(s) access your system. And
in WindowsXP in the wireless config setup you can mark a setting that tells
WindowsXP to only use the preferred network connection first (your SSID).
Give those things a try.
