conflict with Wordpad?

I use Wordpad heavily for my work. Since installing the
Anti-Spyware program, Wordpad will lock up ("not
responding") about for about 15 seconds after I launch
it, free up for a couple seconds, then lock up again for
another 15 seconds, then will be ok after that. This
does not happen with Notepad or Word, but I prefer
Wordpad. Anyone else have this happen or have any
suggestions?

I just checked, and my WordPad loads and functions
normally.

See if you can spot it--other real-time scanning, for example?

There are definitely bugs seen on comparitively few machines--that doesn't
make them not bugs, although it may mean they don't get fixed. Thanks for
the report!

Wordpad delay

This might not be related to your problem but I was experiencing the very same thing until I realized that the computer the networked printer Wordpad was using was not turned on and it was causing Wordpad to 'not respond' for about 25 seconds before becoming operational. As soon as the printer became available, Wordpad loaded fine.

WordPad "Not Responding"

Had the same problem, and the cause was the networked printer (..as "ottopilot3" suggested)
The reason was that the printer-drivers were not installed on my pc, and when I opened WordPad
without the printer being available, it would not respond for 15-30 seconds...searching...

To fix it, I deleted the printer on my pc, and reinstalled it with "Add a printer"
(Control Panel > Printers and Faxes).
Then the drivers were installed on my pc, and WordPad opened normally again without delay,
i.e. fast...if the printer was available or not.
