i am runnning windows 2000 web server and i have 2 network
cards in my pc, one for my cable and one for lan, i have
also set up a web server and set it all up correctly but
you are unable to connect to it while the lan connection
is enabled, because wehn i disable to lan you can connect
to it remotley and it all works, can anyone help??

You should make sure you have a default gateway only configured on the cable
connection and there should be NO default gateway configured for the LAN.

there was no gateway for the lan there was only a ip addr
and a subnet..... and when i go into cable propities there
is no ip or aytnhing, but when i go through cmd.exe and
type ipconfig it brings up the ip and gateway for the
cable.. so im a bit uunsure

And also check the bindingorder in Network Connections, Advanced, Advanced,
and make sure the internal nic is on top.
On the external nic only TCP/IP should be bound.

thans so much, i dont know if it works, but it sounds
good... i got the basic drift of it but whats a nic?
i did it but just outa curiostity i was wondering wot it
was
