Conflict - NOT

The whole "conflict" thing is a royal pain. I wish MS would come up with a
way to a way to CHOOSE. ("Choice" is my favorite word this year and something
developers seem to not understand) When I KNOW that a bunch of files are NOT
in conflict..in other words, the files are exactly the same, I should be able
to CHOOSE to to remove the warning and the "?" and make FP stop trying to
upload them again, especially when they are HUGE AIF or PSD files. I have
used the F1 key and CHOOSING such an option is apparently not an option that
I can find.

Yes, I understand.

I have decided to mark several folders/files as "Do not Publish", then FP
won't try to upload them

These are mainly my images which generally don't change. Of course, when
they do change, I have to remember to unmark them.

I use the same for files on my local folder whcih are not part of the
website - batchfiles and shortcut files to other useful programs such as
fpcleaner.exe

If this idea suits you, then use it. It seems as if MS won't help us at all,
since FronPage is now obsolescent

You mean OBSOLETE.

As in, it will be discontinued (no future "Frontpage" releases) - instead a
new product "Microsoft Expressions Web Developer" will be out late this
year/early next year. I'm sure FP 2003 will be supported for a few years
yet

No I definitely mean OBSOLESCENT

From the Free Dictionary
obsolete
ob·so·lete
adj.
1. No longer in use: an obsolete word.
2. Outmoded in design, style, or construction: an obsolete locomotive.
3. Biology Vestigial or imperfectly developed, especially in comparison with
other individuals or related species; not clearly marked or seen;
indistinct. Used of an organ or other part of an animal or plant.
tr.v. ob·so·let·ed, ob·so·let·ing, ob·so·letes
To cause to become obsolete.

obsolescent
ob·so·les·cent
adj.
1. Being in the process of passing out of use or usefulness; becoming
obsolete.
2. Biology Gradually disappearing; imperfectly or only slightly developed.
Used of an organ or other part of an animal or plant.

If it were obsolete, it would be no longer in use.

It is just obsolescent - in the process of passing out of use or usefulness;
becoming obsolete.

:-))

Thank You Everyone for the response on this. I have used the "Do Not Publish"
route. It's also a littlei nconvenient but works.

Didn't know that FP was going away, so it's probably a good thing that I
have already started to slowly move over the Dreamweaver.
