Hi there,

Is there anyway i can set a group policy that configures the Outlook clients
to MAPI profile.
I basically want to eradicate roaming profiles, and the reason for keeping
them at the moment is the fact it retains mail settings.

If i can apply a group policy that sets the accounts type to exchange
server, the servername to servename and the username to the %username%
variable - that would allow anyone to logon to a machine and have a basic
MAPI profile configured.

I got as far as this site -
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011402851033.aspx -
downloaded the ADM files and imported, but knowwhere can i find these
settings.

Thanks in advance

Not with MS. With MS you can
- work with an MST at time of deployment
- create a outlook.prf with the ORK an deploy it afterwards
You have to import the prf with the parameter
outlook.exe /importprf:outlook.prf
The easiest way is to define a new Desktoplink in a StartupScript.

If you keep the local copies of the RUP and if yo don´t delete
them at logoff no profile and profile data should be lost.

The profile stays the same with all its settings. The only thing
that changes is that the client no longer tries to read the data
from \\yourserver\shareprofile\%username% at login.
The user will use the local profile.
