Can anyone tell me how to stop my computer
from "Configuring network adapter" every time I switch it
on. I fiddled around with some settings when attempting
to set up a network with another computer and I'm not
sure if I've done this or whether it's a bug. It
shouldn't take so long for me to be able to run programs
but it won't do anything until the message disappears. I
also hear the scanner whirring - if that gives any clues
to what's going on...
PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Windows XP's System Restore feature is just the thing for a situation
like this, where you're not sure what went wrong.

Click Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System
Restore and tell it to restore your computer to an earlier time. Pick
a time just before the problem occurred.
