We have a sister company. An employee who works THERE has a rule setup in
their Outlook that fowards a file every evening to various people within
their company and ONE individual in ours. It looks as though everyone in that
office receives the email, but the employee who works here does not. If the
file is MANUALLY forwarded or sent to the individual here it works. I have
checked our firewall logs, etc. and see nothing thats preventing it from
coming into our office. Are there restrictions on Outlook rules about
forwarding to people outside of a companies network/Exchange?? Any
suggestions as to why the employee here does not receive the message?

It's not an Outlook issue, it's an Exchange Server issue; Exchange blocks
"Automatic replies to the Internet" and "Out of Office" replies to the
Internet by default. Both features can be enabled, I can direct you to the
setting in Exchange 5.5 and Exchange 2003.

If you could direct me to in Exchange 2003 it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much.

1. Start Exchange System Manager.
2. Double-click Global Settings, and then click Internet Message Formats.
3. In the Details pane, right-click a domain name, and then click Properties
.. The default Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) domain is * (asterisk).
4. In the Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
5. In the Allowed Types area, click to select the check boxes for the
required settings.
6. Click OK.
