How can I configure WE in XP Pro, so that it shows two panes- left-
hand for showing tree-structure of drives and folders and right-hand
for showing folders and files? I can configure WE by
View-> Explorer Bar and select the Folders option, but I cannot save
that configuration. When I close and reopen WE, it shows just the
single pane view. :(

If it helps, the computer is a PowerSpec from Microcenter....

Thanks in advance, Scott

How are you launching Windows Explorer? The behavior you describe sounds as if
you're simply opening a folder or My Computer.

If you're launching Windows Explorer from a shortcut on your Start menu, right
click on the shortcut and select Properties from the menu.
In the shortcut's properties sheet, click on the Shortcut tab.
Check in the Target box.
The default entry is %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe.

You can create a shortcut to have Windows Explorer open to any location you
want. Take a look at this article for more info.

Windows key + E will open it up in the view you're after.
