"Configure this server" wizard won't launch

Just installed a fresh copy of advanced server 2000 and
have run SP4 and all the hotfixes and am now unable to
launch Configure This Server in the control pannel. I
need to configure it as a domain controller etc etc. Any
ideas ?

I'd suggest that you are not logged in as the administrator, or at least the
administrator permissions have been changed.

I have experienced this problem twice since using Windows Update to get 2
seperate machines updated - my own server - and my Dads pc.

In my case the Active Directory seemed to have the permissions tinkered
with, in the case of my Dads machine it was all of the Office applications -
he was unable to open any MS Office orientated file type!?

Might be worth checking on the off chance, but it does sound like you are
not being given access to it because you are not 'allowed' access to it
etc...

Did you archive the files when you installed? Maybe you can uninstall SP4,
configure the server and then install SP4...

Have you tried using the eperate config tools for these purposes like
dcpromo, for configuring domain controllers ?
