Hi all,

I want to allow the user or the power user account to configure the ip
address.

Is this possible or do they need administrator rights ?

Thanks for your answers !!

I believe you need Admin rights to change the IP address. There is also RUN
AS command, but the user would have to know the Admin name and password.

bertl71,

Administrator privilege is going to work but not necessary for users to be able to change network settings like IP address.
User can just belong to Network Configuration Operators group to be able to do that.

To prevent user from doing everything network related you can use Group Policy (User configuration/Administrative
Templates/Network/Network Connections) to tweak the access to network configuration or other network related stuff. Once you set up
the Group policies, you can have them built into the image (let us know here if this is going to be the case and we can tell you how
to do that).

hello KM,
thanks for your answer.

Please tell me how I can built the group policies into the image.

Thx
