Hi all,
i need some advice on how i should set up a domain that
has two DCs in such a way that if the first DC fails, the
second DC can immediately replace the other DC, meaning
the user will not notice that one of them is down.

Thanks in advance.

Tony,

This is one of the beautiful things about WIN2000 Active
Directory. With two Domain Controllers that are both
running DNS and are both Global Catalog Servers there will
be little that your users will notice. About the only
thing that you would have to do is to either transfer or
seize the FSMO roles that the downed DC might have held.

You see, there is no more Primary Domain Controller /
Backup Domain Controller situation like there was in WINNT
4. All Domain Controllers are equal.

Yeah & this really saved my butt sometime ago
