Conditional Formatting

How do you apply conditional formatting using a variable value rather than a
constant. I need to apply formatting using a variable date range. I
attempted the use of two hidden text boxes with the bounding dates, but
can't figure out how to reference them in the formatting dialog?

Any suggestions?

In the Conditional Formatting dialog, you need to choose "Expression Is"
instead of "Field Value Is", and then enter the appropriate expression.
