I need to conditionally format a column. Heres the
situation. I am using Index and match functions to look
up the s/n and return the dates and notes. howver in some
cases the notes and dates will be a specific color. I
need to carry the color over. any Ideas?

Do you have a set of conditions which determine the colors. You will need to set up the conditional formatting on the sheet that you are returning the numbers to. I don't believe you can bring over formats from another cell with INDEX.

Good Luck,
