concatenate fractions

I need to combine two fields containing fractions to display dimensions in a text format. I have one field with .375 formatted as ?/?? "x" and another with 1.75 formatted as "fraction" up to one digit (1/3). I need the concatenation to yeild "3/8 x 1 3/4

I just don't get it. Any help would be appreciated
