computor problems

I allowed a church member to replace my hard drive. When
he returned my computor he removed my windows 1998 and
replaced it with windows me. Since then my son had been
burning cs's and was asked to no longer do this for legal
issues, currently I cannot get past my start screen. I was
told that the pop-up menus could be overwelming the
system. what can I do to delete all files so that I can
use the computor again. I can't delete anything because I
am not able to go into my computor, documents, etc.

First, go to http://toolbar.google.com/ and get the Google toolbar, which
will block pup-ups in internet explorer. Then go to
http://www.download.com/3001-8022-10289035.html to download Spybot-Search &
Destroy. Spybot Search & Destroy will remove all of the adware and spyware,
and should greatly improve the performance of your computer. After
installing both programs and removing spyware, defragment your hard drive.
