I recently bought a new Dell desktop with XP Home, and am
trying to network my Dell laptop wirelessly, also with XP
Home. While both can access the Internet, and both are
recognized by the base station, neither computer
recognizes the other, and I cannot share the printer
attached to the desktop. File and printer sharing are
turned on on both computers, and the printer and both hard
drives are shared. Where do I go from here?

WindowsXP Home Edition can only work in workgroup
environment and can not work in a domain environment. If
it Home edition, we may have to use only shared folders.

Dean,

please have a look at http://www.michna.com/kb/WxNetwork.htm.
First check whether the firewall is mistakenly enabled on the
internal network port. You'd be walling yourself in. :-)
