Hi all. I'm having a problem with my new laptop. I've had it about a month
now, and never had a problem in the beginning putting it to sleep. I just
pressed the power button and to sleep it went. Now, when I press the power
button, the monitor turns off. That's it, no sleeping, no rebooting, just
the screen turns off and that's it. It happens whether I press the power
button, the sleep button, or manually put it on sleep from the start button.
I don't know what could be causing this as it used to work just fine. I
haven't changed any of the power settings, and when looking at them, the
correct settings are there to put it to sleep when I tell it to do so. Any
help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I am getting the same issue on my desktop kinda. Once in a while pressing
the hibernate button will send it to hibernate. but USUALLY the monitor will
turn off and the computer is still doing stuff (sounds just like it does when
it is running, green light and all). The only way to bring it back is to
restart my system with the restart button....

When you make the coputer hibernate, it does not show a prgress screen like
XP or other versions do. Give it about 2 minutes and it should cut off. If it
doesn't, I don't know what the deal is.
